High Schools: Ethan Heuer’s 10 strikeouts lift Athol baseball past Gardner

Ethan Heuer struck out 10 in five innings of work, picking up the victory as the Athol baseball team took down Gardner, 14-6, in an independent contest on Friday.
Logan Cormier belted a home run as part of a 2-for-2 day. Cormier scored four runs and drove in three.
Heuer also had three hits at the plate for Athol, while Enyert Arias Cepeda, Noah Wein, Riley Young and Oliver Johnson all had two hits in the win.
Franklin Tech 10, Smith Academy 0 (5) — The Eagles scored three in the fourth and six in the fifth to pull away with a Bi-County North win over the Falcons in Turners on Friday.
Hunter Donahue singled, tripled and drove in four runs, Tyler Yetter knocked two hits to drive in three runs, Gavin Crossman tallied two hits and an RBI, Begos singled and doubled while Zaydrien Alamed had a hit and an RBI for Franklin Tech.
Frontier 7, Mahar 0 — Tyler Cusson, Wyatt Edes and Max Skribiski-Banack combined to hold the Senators to just one hit, with the Redhawks scoring five in the sixth to pull away with an independent win in South Deerfield Friday.
Rosco Palmer singled, doubled and drove in two runs, Cusson tallied a hit and an RBI while Nico Fasulo hit safely in the win.
Sam Connors, Matt Vitello and Jayden Delgado combined to hold Frontier to four hits while Connors had Mahar’s lone hit.
