SOUTH DEERFIELD — Pilot Precision Products is one of 19 companies from across the state to be selected as a finalist for MassEcon’s 16th annual celebration of firms for its contributions to the state economy.
The South Deerfield company received a silver award in the Western Massachusetts division for the 2019 Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards.
According to a press release from the company, award winners will be honored at a luncheon at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel on Tuesday. MassEcon bills itself as a statewide non-profit alliance of private- and public-sector partners.
Pilot Precision Products, a 24,000-square-foot facility, opened at 15 Merrigan Way in April as a consolidation of The duMONT Company, Hassay Savage, Magafor and GMauvaisUSA, all owned by founder and CEO Eric Hagopian.
“We have invested heavily in state-of-the-art computer-controlled machines, modern manufacturing processes, and software to help ensure a sustainable and profitable future,” Hagopian said. “We are community-committed, globally dominant in our field, and poised for continued growth in today’s very competitive, fast-paced manufacturing environment.”
According to the release, the award finalists have collectively added more than 6,200 jobs to Massachusetts, invested more than $3.2 billion, and expanded their facilities by more than 4 million square feet since January 2018.
Finalists competed on a regional basis in the western, central, southeast, northeast and greater Boston areas, with gold, silver and bronze winners selected by region. The release explains winners were chosen following site visits, and a reception with their competitors and judges from Boston law firm Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP.
