1:23 p.m. — Caller from the St. Kazimierz Society on Avenue A reports someone intercepted checks and cashed them after they were mailed. Caller was advised of her options.

4:12 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports someone drove up on his lawn on Dell Street and touch out a couple of his wife’s bushes. Driver did stop and offered to fix the damage. Reporting party is not interested in pressing charges, just wants the incident on record. Reporting party plans to price out new bushes and get back to the involved driver. Report taken.

Tuesday, Aug. 12

12:42 p.m. — Officer reports a vehicle struck a guardrail at Turners Falls Road and Ferry Road. Driver was given a verbal warning for failure to use care while turning. Report taken.

Wednesday, Aug. 13

3:25 p.m. — Large tree fell on Broadway and is blocking the road. Department of Public Works responded to remove the tree. No wires involved.

Thursday, Aug. 14

8:54 p.m. — Caller on L Street reports there is water pouring out of the sidewalk in front of her house. Turners Falls Water Department responded, with plans to return the following day. OK to leave overnight.

Friday, Aug. 15

1:55 p.m. — Caller reporting her vehicle, on South Street/Route 63, is smoking badly. Male party on scene advised he disconnected the battery. Tow company called.

Saturday, Aug. 16

5:58 a.m. — Caller reports a transformer blew in front of the Post Office, states there is no power in the building at the corner of Avenue A and Sixth Street. Eversource advised.

Sunday, Aug. 17

10:51 a.m. — Employee at the Shady Glen Diner on Avenue A states a customer stole money off the counter that was left to pay another customer’s bill.

Monday, Aug. 18

6:08 a.m. — Caller reports there is a large piece of wood on the Turners Falls-Gill Bridge. Officer advising there is metal exposed from the joint of the bridge. Massachusetts Department of Transportation was advised.

10:30 a.m. — Officer was flagged down by a resident reporting loose chickens on Turners Falls Road. Animal control officer notified.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

7:57 a.m. — Caller reports the bushes at the intersection of J Street and Fifth Street are overgrown, making it difficult to see oncoming vehicles. Department of Public Works advised.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

5:34 p.m. — Baystate Franklin Medical Center reports a Domino’s driver is seeking treatment in the Emergency Room and is reporting he was bitten by a dog on Chestnut Street. Hospital is wondering if the dog was vaccinated. No contact at the door. Call forwarded to the animal control officer.

Thursday, Aug. 21

10:43 a.m. — Accident involving a scooter on G Street. A car drove by and the involved party swerved and dumped the scooter. Patient refused to be transported but will go to the hospital with his sister.

Friday, Aug. 22

2:45 p.m. — Caller on Federal Street reports her neighbor’s cow is in her yard. Attempted to call the cow’s owner, no answer. Officer states problem was resolved prior to police arrival.

6:30 p.m. — Walk-in reports a blue bike was stolen from her property on Bridge Street. Referred to an officer.

Saturday, Aug. 23

9:20 a.m. — Report of a tree down on Meadow Road near the Sunderland town line. A small branch was located and moved to the side of the road.

Sunday, Aug. 24

8:12 a.m. — Caller states there is a large tree branch across Greenfield Road. Department of Public Works responding with equipment.

Monday, Aug. 25

1 a.m. — Caller on 11th Street states a dog has been barking for hours. Officer advising the dog is being brought inside by its owner.

12:44 p.m. — Multiple 911 calls reporting a fight on East Main Street. Kaleigh Ann Brunette, 37, of East Main Street in Millers Falls, was arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

2:49 p.m. — Caller on Third Street states there is a male party driving a golf cart down the sidewalk and beeping at people to move out of the way. Area checked, unable to locate.

6:38 p.m. — Caller on Millers Falls Road reports something in his house made a sound and then sewage starting backing up into his house, overflowing onto the floor. Turners Falls Fire Department contacted to discuss pumping it out.

8:04 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports her son was fishing under the Turners Falls-Gill Bridge and someone stole his e-bike. Officers out with the bike and a juvenile resident. Bike was returned to owner.

Tuesday, Aug. 26

3:09 p.m. — Caller reports a male party is urinating near Scottys convenience store on Unity Street. Officer advises he spoke to the male party, who was advised he needs to make arrangements to use the restroom prior to waiting for the bus.

8:56 p.m. — Caller reports someone is trying to move a shed in the area of Emond Avenue and Vladish Avenue. The shed is reportedly close to the electrical wires and the involved parties are blocking the roadway. Moved successfully. No need for police services.

10:07 p.m. — Report of a water main break near Montague Town Hall. First Street shut down from Avenue A to L Street. Water Department requesting Berkshire Gas be reached as there is an exposed gas line that should be looked at and possibly shut off. Gas line is not leaking at this time. Berkshire Gas advised.

Wednesday, Aug. 27

12:00 a.m. — Caller reports a fire hydrant is leaking on the corner of Third Street and Avenue A. Water Department advised.

1:52 p.m. — Caller reports that while traveling down Montague City Road, he hit something in the road that caused his tire to go flat. Reporting party struck a cinder block that nearby workers believe fell off a dump truck. Vehicle to be towed.

Thursday, Aug. 28

2:23 p.m. — Manager at Nouria on Third Street reports there is a stray cat in the customer’s car. Animal control officer responding. Cat was reunited with its owner.

Friday, Aug. 29

7:57 a.m. — Report of a large tree across Mineral Road. Department of Public Works advised.

Saturday, Aug. 30

10:01 a.m. — Officer was flagged down by a pedestrian who stated there are people sleeping in the Third Street laundromat. Parties were moved along, no damage witnessed.

11:03 a.m. — Caller reports he had a bike stolen from his property on Old Greenfield Road within the past hour. Reporting party believes someone may have believed it was put out on the roadside for free and took it mistakenly. Report taken.

Sunday, Aug. 31

3:03 p.m. — Caller reporting an altercation between two older women on O Street. Verbal argument mediated.

Monday, Sept. 1

5:02 a.m. — Caller on Park Villa Drive states she awoke to find an unknown individual in her apartment. She awoke to him entering her bathroom. Male party is no longer in the apartment but may still be in the area. Caller states her door was left unlocked. Unable to locate anyone matching the description. Officer advises a neighbor came out but did not notice anything out of the ordinary.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

11:24 a.m. — The Upper Bend on Avenue A reports the fire alarm is sounding due to smoke in the kitchen. No fire. Call transferred to Shelburne Control Dispatch Center.

Wednesday, Sept. 3

11:54 a.m. — Jeremiah James Crossman, 34, of Broadway in Lake Pleasant, was arrested on a warrant on Millers Falls Road.

Thursday, Sept. 4

3:03 p.m. — Reporting party states a silver hatchback was speeding down Montague Street as children are getting out of school. Caller states the vehicle almost went over an embankment and continued toward the Public Safety Complex. Officer advised.

4:56 p.m. — Caller on Wendell Road would like to speak to an officer about a motorcycle that is driving recklessly every morning between 7 and 8 a.m. Officer will pass the message along to the next shift.

Friday, Sept. 5

3:28 p.m. — Police looking to make contact with a former municipal employee who was let go, but still has a laptop that belongs to the town. Involved party won’t answer calls or emails. Collaborating with the Belchertown Police Department.

Saturday, Sept. 6

10:15 a.m. — Minor two-vehicle crash reported on Greenfield Road. No injuries reported and no fluids leaking. One tow requested. Report taken.

Sunday, Sept. 7

10:40 a.m. — Caller on West Street reports finding a white pigeon with a tag on its leg. Appears to be injured. Reporting party will hold onto it in case someone calls about it.

2:01 p.m. — Approximately 20 cows loose in the roadway on Wendell Road. Officer advising the owner is out pushing the cows back into the pasture.
