1:43 a.m. — Reporting party from Beacon Street hears banging at the door, but does not see anybody in the area. Checked the residence, all OK. Could not locate.
9:24 a.m. — Report of an unwanted person at Green Fields Market on Main Street. Manager states a male refused to leave and “attempted to assault him.” Last seen walking in the area of Main and Chapman streets. Manager was given information to issue a formal no-trespass order.
10:58 a.m. — Lamp reported stolen at Whitney Hill Antiques on Main Street. Report issued.
11:12 a.m. — Party requesting to speak with an officer about fraudulent text messages. Confirmed to be a scam. Assisted with blocking the phone number. Services rendered.
3:56 p.m. — Caller reports no one is living in a house on Conway Street and kids have been going inside the past few days. Officers sent. Two juveniles located inside. Guardians were contacted and assumed responsibility for the juveniles. Kids are getting in through open windows. Refrigerator has food in it and there is new food in the cabinets. Drugs and alcohol found inside. Fire Department has deemed the house unsafe and the Health Department should respond to condemn it. Structure cleared by drone.
8:38 p.m. — Officer out with five individuals at the Greenfield Skate Park on Chapman Street. Individuals were advised the park closes at dusk. Moved along.
9:54 p.m. — Caller from Raingley Road reports seeing a male party on the street acting suspiciously. Reporting party states when he brought out the recycling, the male walked across the street and hid behind a tree. Reporting party states his wife noticed the male walk down the street. Canvassed area, unable to locate. Advised reporting party to call back if the male party returns.
Tuesday, Aug. 26
9:38 a.m. — Report of an unwanted person at Kenney Auto Repair Service on Davis Street. Caller reports a male party is in his business office currently. He is not acting out, however, the business has had issues with him in the past over car repairs and he is unwanted at this location. Party was moved along without incident.
12:23 p.m. — Reporting party has concerns about the old dog park on Kimball Drive, stating it has become a homeless encampment with RVs, tents and people defecating in the area. Reporting party states she was walking her dog earlier and noticed many tents set up near the edge of the river. Reporting party states trash is piling up and she feels the area is becoming unsafe to walk.
6:11 p.m. — Reporting party states she sees a male party who is wanted by the police sitting in a black vehicle in a parking lot on Kenwood Street. Todd A. Lyons, 45, of Pleasant Street in Orange, was arrested on six warrants.
7:58 p.m. — Reporting party states there are people blasting music in the parking lot of the high school. Juveniles were advised of the complaint and turned music off.
Wednesday, Aug. 27
8:01 a.m. — Caller reports what he feels is suspicious activity. Caller states a tow truck with unknown markings showed up and is towing multiple vehicles from the lot next door. Officer spoke with the property manager of 102 Main St., who is having vehicles removed that are visiting neighboring houses. Reserved parking is clearly marked.
3:36 p.m. — Caller from Wildwood Avenue states her neighbor’s chickens are continuing to get into her yard. Left message for the animal control officer.
5:04 p.m. — Reporting party states a male party at Koch’s Automotive could barely stand and is now sitting in his car with the door wide open going in and out of it. Reporting party called back stating the male party left in his vehicle, cutting off cars as he was pulling out of the parking lot, heading south on Federal Street. Matthew Joseph Clairmont, 30, of Adams, was arrested on a charge of possession of a Class A drug.
Thursday, Aug. 28
6:18 a.m. — Reporting party from Davis Street is upset that a rooster is waking him up at 6 a.m. every day. Reporting party is requesting an officer “go bang on their door and disturb them the way the rooster disturbs him.” Dispatch offered to give the caller the animal control officer’s direct number and he refused to take it, stating he will call dispatch every morning with the same complaint until something is done. Caller was advised the animal control officer will be alerted. Reporting party stated he understands there is “not a whole lot” that police can do, but that if this problem continues, he will begin to “take matters into his own hands legally.”
8:00 a.m. — Report of a male party stopping people on the sidewalk on Chapman Street asking if they need “sexual healing.” Officer drove through the area twice. No issues found.
7:06 p.m. — A traffic stop at the Interstate 91 rotary resulted in the arrest of a juvenile on charges of trafficking in 100 grams or more/less than 200 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license and possession of a firearm in a felony. Terrell Jayden Brown, III, 19, of Springfield, was also arrested on charges of trafficking in 36 grams or more/less than 100 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm in a felony and carrying a loaded firearm without a license. Kenneth Bernard Youmans, 35, of Holyoke, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, failure to stop for police and failure to stop/yield.
7:44 p.m. — Report of a vehicle operating erratically at the Interstate 91 rotary. Leticia Joanne Keyes, 54, of Moosehorn Road in New Salem, was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (two counts), disorderly conduct, failure to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, driving at a rate of speed exceeding the posted limit and resisting arrest.
Friday, Aug. 29
9:27 a.m. — Male party causing a disturbance at Main and Chapman streets. Romero Floienco Henderson, 45, of North Wales, Pennsylvania, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
9:37 a.m. — Caller reporting a nude male in the women’s restroom near the handicapped entrance of City Hall on Court Square. Nothing found.
Saturday, Aug. 30
12:16 p.m. — Report of shoplifting at Big Y on the Mohawk Trail. Female was observed eating a bowl of soup, two pieces of pizza and drinking 1½ bottles of wine in the sitting area near the registers. When confronted, the female agreed to stop drinking and go pay for the items. But as she approached the registers, she immediately ran out of the store toward Dollar General. Report issued.
3:06 p.m. — A baby squirrel fell from a tree on Deerfield Street and is following the reporting party around. Reporting party fed the squirrel and is wondering what they can do for it. Message sent to the animal control officer.
9:07 p.m. — Caller on Haywood Street reports a neighbor threw a bottle of tomato sauce at her door. Property damage via a jar of pasta sauce. Follow-up to be conducted.
11:26 p.m. — Reporting party can hear two or three people yelling while walking up and down the street at Chapman and Walnut streets. No one observed in the area and nothing heard upon arrival.
Sunday, Aug. 31
12:26 a.m. — Report of an unwanted person at Sandri Stopsmart on Federal Street. Officers sent. Party is refusing to leave the store because staff will not sell her alcohol. She was informed liquor sales are not allowed at this time of night and she is no longer welcome on the premises. Female party eventually left on foot on her own accord.
11:30 p.m. — Female party said she was assaulted by a male party (involving a cane). Male party was later located at Dunkin on the Mohawk Trail and was placed under arrest. Ralph A. Provost, 67, of Elm Terrace in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, vandalizing property, carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class E drug.
