Lenten Discussion Series coming to Sunderland, Whately

The 26th annual Lenten Discussion Series continues on Wednesdays, March 8 and 15, with stops at the Sunderland and Whately congregational churches. Sessions are offered both in person and remotely via Zoom.

The March 8 session, to be held at the Sunderland Congregational Church, will be led by Pulpit Supply and Bridge Minister Rev. Sherril Willis. The discussion is titled “The Journey — Religious Music Hidden in the Secular World.”

The series continues on March 15 at the Whately Congregational Church with Conway and Shelburne Pastor Rev. Marianne MacCullagh leading a discussion titled “Stigma.”

Two Planning Board seats open in Conway election

CONWAY — Two Planning Board seats with three-year terms will be up for grabs in Conway’s election this spring, as Susan Fentin and Chair Beth Girshman are not seeking re-election.

Nominations for the two seats will be taken at the annual caucus, which will be held on Thursday, March 16, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. Alternatively, nomination papers will also be available following the caucus for those who are unable to attend. Papers must be returned by April 21.

The Planning Board meets twice monthly and is responsible for special permitting, public hearings, zoning bylaws and long-range planning for the town. Past projects include bylaw revisions for flood plains, solar arrays and cannabis facilities.

Mount Toby Concerts presents Court Dorsey

LEVERETT — Mount Toby Concerts continues its ongoing music series on Saturday, March 18, with singer and playwright Court Dorsey.

Dorsey will take the stage at 194 Long Plain Road (Route 63) at 7 p.m., armed with his banjo to play “dark rhymies” in the form of songs and humorous monologue put to music.

A suggested donation of $15 to $25 is requested. Seats can be reserved by emailing diacrowe@yahoo.com or calling 413-336-2589. Masks are required indoors.
