WHATELY — A rollover accident on Interstate 91 shortly before 4:30 p.m. Friday caused the driver to be transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
According to Sgt. John Ruyffelaert of the Massachusetts State Police Northampton barracks, a 29-year-old female from New Hampshire was driving southbound in a blue 1978 Chevrolet van when the accident occurred.
The accident took place near mile marker 35, by the Whately-South Deerfield town line.
Massachusetts State Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, but the vehicle eventually came to rest upside down within the median. Ruyffelaert said the driver was complaining of neck and back pain following the incident.
The driver also had a dog with her in the vehicle, which was taken to Deerfield Animal Hospital.
No other information about the driver’s identity or her condition are available at this time.
