GREENFIELD — In recognition of Arbor Day, the city’s Tree Committee and the Department of Public Works will plant a honeylocust tree near Kostanski Funeral Home, a business that has been a key supporter of the Tree Committee for roughly 20 years.
If you’ve ever thought about buying an electric bike, now could be the time. The Massachusetts E-Bike Voucher Program is now in effect. The program assists low-and moderate-income Massachusetts residents by providing a voucher that dramatically reduces the cost of an e-bike. The program will award approximately 500 vouchers each month from April to September. Residents can apply during a two-week period each month.

Christopher Bonnett was suspended last month after a private investigation found he violated four Police Department policies while conducting an internal affairs investigation involving another officer in August 2024, according to an 84-page report obtained by the Greenfield Recorder.

MONTAGUE — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers arrested four farmworkers associated with Red Fire Farm earlier this month as part of a six-day operation throughout the state, including a raid in Springfield, that resulted in the arrests of 370 allegedly undocumented immigrants.
The Franklin County Solid Waste Management District is collaborating with the towns of Leverett, Montague, Northfield and Warwick next month to hold special recycling collections for blocky Styrofoam packing material.
