Montague Police Logs: March 10 to March 22, 2025

4:10 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports someone took a bath in her hot tub on Federal Street. Husband noticed there was a lot of suds in it and they found a used bar of soap next to it. Unsure who did this. Would like it on record at this time.
6:24 p.m. — Reporting party reports an illegal burn in the Fourth Street alleyway after the individuals were told they can’t do that. Shelburne Control Dispatch Center notified. Turners Falls Fire Department requesting police assistance due to history with the male party. Fire captain advising the male party called in about a cooking fire at 7:00 p.m. The container he is using is fine.
12:08 p.m. — Caller reports a stop sign and speed limit sign on Rastallis Street are lying on the ground. Department of Public Works advised.
10:23 p.m. — Caller from Burnett Street reports ongoing harassment. The same red vehicle from previous harassment calls has been pulling up in front of the house and leaving. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle. He spoke with the reporting party about pending court paperwork.
7:07 a.m. — Reporting party from Grove Street states workers are doing tree work on the road and it woke her up. Would like the Department of Public Works to be told they need to come back later. Officer advised. Reporting party called back in stating they quieted down for a little bit but they are working again. She states she would like them to be fined and told to come back after 9:30 a.m. She is not sure if they are on her road still or the next road over.
1:59 p.m. — Hold-up alarm at S.O. Conte Research Laboratory on Migratory Way. Officer advised. Confirmed false alarm.
12:27 a.m. — Reporting party from Burnett Street states the people who have been causing a disturbance at his house for the last few months are back. Reporting party states it is being handled by a detective, he just wanted it on record that they were back tonight driving up and down on the street at a high rate of speed and honking the horn. Reporting party states the people have been identified and there is a court date coming up, but just wants this additional incident reported.
3:26 a.m. — Tow truck operator states they received a request to pull out a vehicle that went off the road into a field on Sunderland Road, with possible property damage. Caller requesting an officer respond before they tow the car.

9:01 a.m. — Adam Aja, 43, of Vladish Avenue in Turners Falls, was arrested on a default warrant after a traffic stop at Turnpike Road and Emond Avenue.
10:22 a.m. — Reporting party from Second Street would like it on record that his ID was hacked/stolen and charges were made on one of his cards. He notified his bank already.
6:52 p.m. — Reporting party calling in regard to the fraud that he called about earlier in the day. Reporting party states he changed his email and the person who took his money is now messaging him via email. Referred to an officer.
3:53 a.m. — Reporting party from Burnett Street states her window was smashed in. Officer downtown is keeping an eye out for juveniles. Officer advising he spoke to the homeowner and is going to attempt to locate the juveniles. A white Nike sneaker was thrown through the window. Report taken.
12:04 p.m. — Reporting party from Central Street would like it on record that someone went through his vehicle last night. This is the third time. Nothing was taken. Services rendered.
5:47 p.m. — Employee from Subway on Avenue A reports a group of men are in the employees-only area playing loud music and refusing to leave. Officer advised the males were gone on arrival. No threats were made and nothing was taken. Employees were advised of options.
12:48 p.m. — Caller on Seventh Street states her vehicle was struck. No injuries but there is some damage to both vehicles. Report taken.
9:36 a.m. — Caller near The Upper Bend on Avenue A reports there is an injured rabbit in the bush. Animal control officer notified.
3:28 p.m. — Reporting party is concerned about a raccoon that is walking around in the area of Bangs Street, appears aggressive. Second caller reporting a raccoon in their backyard on Millers Falls Road acting aggressively. Animal control officer is unavailable. Referred to an officer.
3:34 p.m. — Multiple callers reporting a vehicle hit a utility pole at Main Street and Kells Road and the pole is in the road. Driver refused medical treatment. Vehicle was towed. Road remained closed for several hours while Eversource replaced the pole.
10:05 a.m. — Reporting party on Millers Falls Road reports a possibly rabid or sick raccoon is in the yard. Message relayed to the animal control officer, who will be responding. ACO removed the raccoon.
2:56 p.m. — Reporting party states she was walking and saw a man and a woman in Peskeomskut Park on Avenue A. The woman was reportedly sitting on the man’s lap and she’s positive they were having sex. Also believes they are homeless. Officer advised. Unable to locate.
3:24 p.m. — Reporting party from Adams Street states a rabid raccoon is on his porch and has porcupine quills sticking out of it. States the animal is ruining his porch furniture. Officer advised.
1:18 p.m. — John L. Terault, 61, of Avenue A in Turners Falls, was arrested on a default warrant on Avenue A.
8:36 p.m. — Caller from 11th Street reports two males and a female are yelling and swearing at each other. Officers spoke with the involved female and advised her of the complaint.
4:27 p.m. — Caller reports a black four-door sedan was parked in front of her grandmother’s house on Spring Street and she didn’t recognize it. She drove back around to go back and looked at the male in the driver’s seat. Caller states he drove a little down the road and picked up a female. Reporting party states she believes they were casing her grandmother’s house. Officer reports nothing suspicious in the area.
7:06 p.m. — Caller on Greenfield Road reports a tree down blocking the road, unsure if wires are involved. Second caller reporting the same. Department of Public Works requested, as well as a chainsaw and bucket loader. Tree removed.
