Stone Soup Café’s Soup CSA returns
GREENFIELD — After a successful first season with 135 participants, Stone Soup Café’s Soup CSA is returning this fall, giving community members a chance to enjoy six months of homemade soup while also supporting the organization’s mission.
The Soup CSA runs from October through March. Participants pay in advance to receive one or more quarts of soup each month from a changing selection of soups. All soups are gluten-free and there is always a vegan option available.
Last season’s CSA featured a wide range of soups, from familiar favorites like tomato basil and chicken vegetable, to more adventurous offerings such as tom kha gai, chicken gumbo with chorizo, African peanut stew, Haitian pumpkin soup, and roasted red pepper and corn bisque.
“Think of it as a ‘Soup of the Month Club,’” Stone Soup Café Executive Director and Chef Kirsten Levitt said in a statement. “The Soup CSA is another way for people to participate in what we do here at the café. It’s a win-win — you get good hearty soup, and you help make our other programs possible.”
Monthly pickup takes place at Stone Soup Café at 399 Main St. To learn more or to register, visit thestonesoupcafe.org/soup-csa or email SoupCSA@thestonesoupcafe.org.
