Sidney Herron

Leyden, MA – Thursday October 1, 2026, Sidney Frank Herron, age 76, beloved husband, dad, brother and grandpa left his family and friends. He was a loyal multi generation farmer who loved what he did! He was very loyal to all and always willing to help people out.

His dad and mom, the late Donald and Ruth (Lawrence) Herron, from Leyden Massachusetts, had a baby boy on January 23, 1950 in Greenfield Massachusetts at the Greenfield Franklin County Hospital. His siblings he grew up with, Larry Herron, from North Adams, Linda Thompson and Rita (Ede) Klaus from Leyden. Predeceased by Beverly Gale, John Herron and William Herron. Sid’s wife Deborah Herron (Bernard), children Jason Herron (Iris), Emily Herron-Clark (Daniel), Kimberly Jordan (Donnie), Kayla Rice (John). Also his grandchildren, Amelia, Merissa, Leeanna, Lucy Mae, Frayja, Nyad, Sebastian and Orion. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sidney loved sugaring, making maple syrup, picking blueberries and making hay. He also is a talented mechanic, who took classes at the Vocational School in Greenfield Massachusetts. He was a gentle, loving soul and hard working. He was a great story teller. Loved to hunt, working on trucks and tractors. He enjoyed auto meets, muscle cars and big trucks. Sid also carried on the family tradition of donating food to the Leyden Suppers. And he would help out when he was needed. Was always willing to lend a hand to his fellow neighbor or those in need. He sure will be dearly missed.

A life well lived and a memory forever, to one of the great, humble farmers that left us too soon!
