South Deerfield, MA – Patricia M. Zoly, affectionately known to all as “Patty,” peacefully left this planet on August 7, 2026, at home with her children by her side. She was 78 years old.
Born on October 29, 1947, Patty was a force of nature. Tiny, outspoken, and fiercely independent, she lived life entirely on her own terms. Loved by all, she was famous for her sharp wit and never hesitated to give you her crooked finger when the occasion called for it. She turned heads and commanded respect wherever she went, especially behind the wheel of her beloved 5-speed Toyota Tacoma. Patty had many great friends who shared in her adventures and brought immense joy to her life.
Patty dedicated over 25 years of her life to the University of Massachusetts. She was deeply appreciated by both coworkers and students alike, a fact proven by the steady stream of handwritten sentiments and thank-you notes she constantly received throughout her career.
An animal lover at her very core, Patty’s heart belonged to all creatures. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
She is survived by her son, Todd Zoly, and his wife Becky; her daughter, Tricia Zoly, and Tricia’s partner Steven Hunt. She was the proud grandmother of Sarah Zoly, Ben Zoly, and Ty Sadoski. As a true animal lover, she also leaves behind her cherished grand-pups: Scarlett, Rosie, Jack, Reba, and Pedi.
At Patty’s explicit request, there will be no somber funeral. Instead, family and friends will gather to celebrate, share stories, memories, and love at her favorite Friday night hangout. This celebration will take place at The South Deerfield Polish Club on September 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
Donations may be made in Patty’s honor to the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter or The Dakin Humane Society.
