The Greenfield Recorder compiled a list of All-Stars for outdoor girls track & field athletes. Coaches input and performances in playoff environments helped factor into the final decisions. Intercounty league results also played a role.

Zephyr Jetzon, Mohawk Trail

Jetzon took home a Western Mass. Class S (Small School) championship with her performance in the long jump at Hampshire Regional High School on May 22. The sophomore (15-7.75) won by over four inches. At the ensuing Division 6 championships, Jetzon placed 11th among the jumpers in the state. During the Intercounty season, Jetzon excelled in sprinting and jumping events.

Louise Flagollet, Frontier Regional

At the Small School championship, Flagollet jumped five feet even for a second-place finish for the Redhawks. At the Division 6 championship, Flagollet placed fourth in the same event. During the Intercounty season, she had a dominant season running in the 200-meter and 400-meter. Flagollet ran a personal best (27.34) in the 200-meter at the MSTCA Heptathlon event. At the Division 6 championships, Flagollet finished seventh (1:01.45, PB) in the 400-meter.

Maia Christensen, Frontier Regional

Christensen finished third (five feet) in at the Small School championship in the high jump. The sophomore took her talents to the Division 6 championships with another impressive performance, finishing tied for fifth. Locally, Christensen performed well in the 400-hurdles.

Virginia Krezmien, Mohawk Trail

Krezmien had another elite season as a distance runner for the Warriors. At the Small School championship, Krezmien logged a third place finish and a personal best (5:26.27) in the mile. In Intercounty competition, Krezmien rarely lost in distance events.

Morgan Raffa, Mohawk Trail

Raffa was a force in throwing events during the Intercounty season and the postseason for the Warriors. The junior took home a Small School championship in the discus (99-5). At the Division 6 championships, Raffa registered a personal best (109-9) on the way to a second place finish. She finished fourth (111-3) in the javelin at the Small School championship before a sixth place finish (107-7) in the same event at the Division 6 meet.

Stellina Moore, Mahar Regional

Moore had quite the moment at the Small School championship as she registered a first place finish in the pole vault, establishing a personal best (10-6). Moore placed third in the pole vault at the Division 6 meet. At the Meet of Champions, Moore placed seventh. In the high jump, Moore placed fifth at both the Small School and Division 6 meets.

Kyra Tamsin, Greenfield

The sophomore had another impressive season in hurdles for the Green Wave, which included a third place finish (17.31) in the 100-hurdles at the Small School championship. Tamsin just missed a Small School championship in the 400-hurdles, finishing second (1:07.94). The run set a new school record for Tamsin. At the Division 6 meet, Tamsin placed sixth (1:08.97) in the 400-hurdles.

Jakhia Williams, Turners Falls

Williams had an excellent Intercounty season in sprinting events for the Thunder. The sophomore also set a personal best (14-10) in the long jump during the outdoor season. Williams’ performances contributed to a 4-2 regular season for the Thunder. An injury ended her season before the postseason.

Charley Harrington, Frontier Regional

Harrington accounted for over 100 points for the Redhawks in Intercounty play as an eighth grader. She placed fifth at the Small School championship (32-11) in the triple jump. She added a fourth-place finish (15-2.25) in the long jump. At the Division 6 meet, Harrington placed sixth (34-2.75) in the triple jump.

Tristan Bliss, Turners Falls

Bliss was nearly unbeatable in throwing events during the Intercounty season for the Thunder. Scheduling conflicts with school activities did not allow her to participate in the Small School competition. Bliss achieved personal bests in the discus (97 feet) and the shot put (26-5) in a meet against Mohawk on April 28.

Kamyra Clark, Athol

Clark was the highest Recorder area finisher at the Small School championships in the shot put. The freshman placed ninth (26-11.25). During the Intercounty season, Clark had one loss during the year. She added an eighth-place finish in the discus, which was a personal best.

Bailey Cusson, Frontier Regional

Cusson was a constant point scorer in Intercounty competition in throwing events for the Redhawks. The freshman placed second (88-9) in the discus at the Small School championship. At the Minnechaug Invitational, Cusson placed first (26-7) overall in the shot put. At the Division 6 meet, Cusson established a personal best (94-3) in the discus. The throw was good for 10th.

Heidi Helenek, Mohawk Trail

Helenek showed off her versatility this season, competing in all kinds of events for the Warriors. In the 400-hurdles, Helenek had an excellent Intercounty season. At the Class S championships, she finished seventh (1:12.71). She registered a personal best (1:10.68) at the Division 6 meet in the 400-hurdles. The run was good for 10th place.

Nina St. Clair, Greenfield

St. Clair specialized in jumping events for the Green Wave this season. At the Small School championship, she placed fourth in the triple jump (33-1.5). At the Minnechaug Invitational, St. Clair placed second (35 feet) in a field of 17 athletes. The jump established a personal best.

Harper Hake, Pioneer Valley Regional

Facing some adversity this season, the freshman distance runner qualified for the Division 6 meet in the mile and the 2-mile for the Panthers. At the Small School meet, Hake finished eighth (5:40.64). The run was a personal best.
