It was a high-scoring affair between the Flyers and the Bombers in the Franklin County Summer Softball League championship game on Wednesday.
The Flyers took an early lead, but the Bombers stormed back to get in the game. In the end it was the Flyers who held on for a 9-8 victory to take home the championship.
Breanna Kempf and Ava Worden both knocked singles while Brayleigh Burgh and Madison Urban cracked doubles for the Flyers. Burgh pitched in the victory.
Sienna LaFlesh recorded two singles while Carson Farrell, Rianna Shaw and Autumn Thornton hit safely for the Bombers. Mia Shaw struck out 13 in the defeat.

The Beacon Red Clay Tennis Classic champion was crowned Tuesday, with the final match taking place over two days due to weather.
Anthony Holley raised the trophy, defeating Yanis Chibani 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3) in the finals. It is the second Beacon title for Holley.
Thomas Memorial
Bill Chalmers and George Sargent tied for the top point quota of plus-6 in the Knights of Columbus League at Thomas Memorial on Wednesday.
Rick Greene won closest to the pin on No. 5 (five feet, 10 inches) while Craig LeBlanc won it on No. 7 (7-2). Kent McGahan, Alan Wondoloski and LeBlanc won skins while Bob Bourbeau shot the low gross of 36.
Sign-ups are ongoing for the Packard Heights Mini-Triathlon, which returns to Orange on Aug. 27.
The triathlon is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the main beach on Packard Pond. Teams of one to three members may enter, though the number of teams will be limited.
The race features a 1.5 mile kayak on the lake, two laps (4.2 miles) of biking around the lake and a one lap run (2.1 miles) around the lake.
The entry fee is $30. There will be a mini-mini triathlon for children of racers or association members following the main race. Net proceeds will go to the preservation of Packard Heights. Applications can be picked up at the Athol Area YMCA or from any association member. Awards will follow the race.

Whitney Roberts (four hits, three RBIs), Sean O’Connor (three hits, six RBIs), Bob Badillo (three hits) and Emma Daley (three hits) led the Liberty Tax Sharks to a 27-22 win over Lightlife Foods on Tuesday in a Greenfield co-ed adult softball game.
Brielle Widelo (three hits), Sean Allen (three hits, three RBIs), Roberto Torres (three hits, two RBIs) Joel Emberly (three hits) and Ray Dodge (three hits, two RBIs) played well in the loss.
