GREENFIELD — Beginning Tuesday, July 5, adults, teens and children are invited to participate in the Greenfield Public Library’s Summer Reading Program. The theme is “Beyond the Beaten Path.”
For adults, there is one book for each week, as well as two alternates, according to a Greenfield Public Library press release. There will also be a virtual escape room.
Teenagers will earn a pin for their lanyard for every genre they check out, as well as a free ice cream cone from Ice Cream Alley for every 10 hours spent reading. Participants can also play along on the library’s summer reading bingo card to win T-shirts and gift certificates.
The Summer Reading Program for children gives each participant a chance to win weekly prize drawings. By simply reading, children can earn up to two coupons for free ice cream.

GREENFIELD — The LAVA Center at 324 Main St. will celebrate Canada Day on Friday, July 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. with Canadian comedy, music and food.
GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Public Library is now offering free Teen To-Go Kits designed for youth ages 12 to 18.
The kits, which are filled with books and gear to help teens learn a new skill, can be checked out for three weeks, according to a Greenfield Public Library press release. The first five kits are: Learn to play Dungeons & Dragons; Mindfulness; Learn to Play the Ukulele; Nature Journaling; and Fortune Telling & Mind Reading.

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Public Library is now hosting a weekly Game Lab, on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 5 p.m., under the tent behind the library.
Each week will feature two new tabletop games that were recently added to the library’s collection. According to a Greenfield Public Library press release, games are for ages 10 and up.

GREENFIELD — The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts’ monthly brown bag program for qualifying seniors will be held Thursday, July 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Greenfield Senior Center at 35 Pleasant St.
According to a notice from Senior Center Activities Director Kathy Dunn, seniors who receive fuel assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits or other benefits will qualify. To apply, call the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts at 413-247-9738. Applications are also on hand at the Senior Center.
GREENFIELD — Starting Tuesday, July 5, the Greenfield Public Library will again be open until 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The building previously closed at 6 p.m. on those days.
