Seems the mayor is on the “defund the police” side but doesn’t want her hands dirty. By not making a move to use the funds she has available to her, she gets two things: the police get defunded, which makes her progressive/liberal supporters ( and her) happy … and when the police supporters get all riled up (which they are), she can blame it all on the City Council and say her hands are tied (which isn’t true). So, she would rather stay quiet about her financial options and let it play out like it is … cops end up defunded and City Council takes the blame. She comes out unscathed. I wish more people would open their eyes.
