It’s Memorial Day and the weather’s warming, families are gathering,

It’s Memorial Day and hearts are remembering, and some chairs are empty,

It’s Memorial Day, the cookouts are happening and relatives reunite,

It’s Memorial Day and in the cemeteries folks visit graves,  at home, some chairs are empty,

It’s Memorial Day our tears flow, our hearts ache, but the songs lifts us up,

It’s Memorial Day and we send our sounds to heaven and we hope they will hear us,

It’s Memorial Day and the angels pick up the tune and ring it as if Taps was a love song,

It’s Memorial Day and we all know why we are here, we are here because some chairs are empty.

It’s Memorial Day and as a community, we come together because, some chairs are empty.

It’s Memorial Day.
