Just about the entire Greenfield baseball team got involved at the plate on Friday against Hampshire. 

The Green Wave tallied 13 hits to pull away with a 9-1 Suburban League West victory at Vets Field. 

Tyler Podolski and Trevor Kuchieski each had three hits in the win, with Podolski driving in a pair of runs as well. MJ Paulin had an RBI triple, Jackson Petrin and Caleb Thomas each tallied a pair of hits while Deven Dubie, Michael Pierce, David Carey and Drew Conant each hit safely for Greenfield (4-1, 2-1). 

TJ Thibeault got the win on the mound, striking out five in 4⅓ innings work. Carey came on for the final 2⅔ innings, striking out four. 

Frontier 14, Athol 3 — Shane Prusak had a pair of singles and four RBIs in the Redhawks Suburban League West win in five innings over the Bears in South Deerfield on Friday. 

Tyler Dubreuil had a single, a triple, four stolen bases and an RBI in the victory, with Kevin Baumann tallying two hits and an RBI and Alex Gochinski had an RBI single for Frontier (5-0, 3-0). Liam Skribiski-Banack struck out three in the victory. 

Gabriel Hume had a two-RBI single while Logan Cormier hit safely in the loss for Athol (0-5, 0-3). 

Turners 5, McCann Tech 2 — Alex Quezada struck out six and scattered just four hits before Kainen Stevens came on to record the save as the Thunder came away with an independent win in Turners on Friday. 

Cam Burnett and Derek Wissman each tallied a hit and two RBIs for Turners (4-1). Quezada had a pair of hits and Lincoln Coleman hit safely in the victory. 

Softball

Athol 16, Smith Academy 3 (5) — Sadey Lehtomaki stayed red hot at the plate on Friday, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple and a single. She brought in seven RBIs as the Bears defeated the Falcons in five innings in Hatfield. 

Jenna Bonenfant and Alyssa Logan each had three hits for Athol (4-1), Bonenfant driving in two runs and Logan tallying an RBI. Emma Bacigalupo also went 4-for-4, one hit a double, Lindsey LeBlanc knocked a single, a double and brought in a pair of runs and Kassidy Swan had a pair of hits in the win. 

LeBlanc got the win in the circle, striking out nine in five innings. 

Easthampton 18, Frontier 3 (5) — Ashley Taylor tallied a pair of hits in the Redhawks 18-3 independent loss to the Eagles in South Deerfield on Friday. 

Sophia Pinardi knocked a triple and brought in a pair of runs for Frontier (2-4) while Makayla Santos, Skyler Steele and Hailey Hutkoski each hit safely in the loss. 

Mohawk Trail 28, Commerce 0 (5) — Mya Lesieur went 5-for-6 with a triple as the Warriors cruised to a win over Commerce on Friday. 

Addie Loomis was 4-for-6 with a double while Riley Giard had a double and four singles for Mohawk Trail (2-2). Giard struck out seven in the circle for the Warriors. 

Wahconah 20, Mahar 0 — Avery Vale-Cruz tossed a 14 strikeout no-hitter for the Warriors to defeat the Senators in Orange on Friday. 

Boys track

Mohawk Trail 78, Mahar 65 — Dennis Simmons won the 400 (58.8 seconds), the mile (5:36.5) and the 2 mile (13:13) to help lead the Warriors to a win over the Senators in Orange on Friday. 

Sean O’Dea won the 800 (2:27.1), Will VanVleet took first in the shot put (31 feet, 7.5 inches), Chay Mojallali won the high jump (5-6), Mohamed Abdelgawad came in first in the 100 hurdles (22.1) for Mohawk Trail. The Warriors won the 4×400 with a time of 4:09.2. 

Noah Rich won the discus (85-9.5) and javelin (112-8) for Mahar. Dominic Whitman took the long jump (18-7.5), triple jump (36-6.5) and the 100 (11.9), Kaleb Lemcke came in first in the pole vault (8-0), Mitchell Krasco won the 400 hurdles (71.1) and Mathieu Soucy took the 200 (26.3) in the loss. The Senators won the 4×100 relay with a time of 51.7 seconds. 

Greenfield 119, Franklin Tech 23 — Theo Popusoi won the long jump (19-1.5), triple jump (36-1.75), pole vault (12-6) and the 400 hurdles (65.1) while Liviu Mihailicenco took the high jump (6-0), 100 hurdles (16.4) and the 400 (56.0) as the Green Wave came out victorious against the Eagles in Turners on Friday. 

Other Greenfield winners on Friday were Deion Brewington in the shot put (34-1), the 100 (12.0) and the 200 (24.7); Andy Bostrom in the mile (5:50.2) and 2 mile (12:30); Jon Breor in the javelin (120-4) and Jackson Caron in the 800 (2:36.6). The Green Wave won the 4×100 (47.8) and 4×400 (4:46) relays. 

Greyson Rollins was the lone Eagle winner on Friday, taking the discus with a toss of 84-7.

Girls track 

Mohawk Trail 76, Mahar 69 — Emily Sisum took the javelin (79-8), the triple jump (31-4) and the 400 hurdles (75.3) while Ellie Pinkham won the long jump (15-5.5), 100 (13.5), 200 (28.0) and 400 (67.2) as the Warriors edged out a win against the Senators in Orange on Friday. 

Natalie Lanoue won the mile (6:20.4) and Valerie Bzomowski took the 2 mile (16:41.6) for Mohawk Trail. The Warriors took the 4×100 relay with a time of 61.2 seconds. 

Sienna Moore took first in the high jump (4-6) and pole vault (9-0) for Mahar. Stellina Moore won the 100 hurdles (19.6), Caroline Chase took the shot put (28-4.5), Grace Rich won the discus (66-2) and Sophia Woods came in first in the 800 (2:58.9) for the Senators. Mahar won the 4×400 with a time of 5:05.3. 

Greenfield 87, Turners 35 — Tess Rancourt set a new personal best in the discus with a toss of 87-7 and won the shot put (34-.5) while Candice Lu won the mile (6:38), 800 (3:04) and 2 mile (5:46.7) in the Green Wave’s win over the Thunder in Turners on Friday. 

Other Greenfield winners were Makayla Valente in the high jump (4-0) and javelin (81-1), Maddy Hayes in the 100 hurdles (19.6) and 400 hurdles (83.3), Kristina Kostev in the triple jump (24-3.5) and Emma Savoy in the long jump (12-8.25). The Green Wave won the 4×400 relay with a time of 5:46.7. 

For the Thunder, Elise Wolfe won the 400 (83.9), McKenzie Sourdiff won the pole vault (6-6) and Jazzlyn Gonzalez won the 200 (32.0). 

Girls tennis

Frontier 5, Turners 0 — The Redhawks took all five matches to sweep the Thunder on Friday in Turners. 

Sam Scanlon defeated Steph Peterson 6-2, 7-5 in No. 1 singles, Sydney Scanlon beat Haley Randall 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles and Sam Baker earned a 6-1, 6-2 win in No. 3 singles over Turners’ Maria LaBelle. 

In No.1 doubles, the Frontier pair of Chloe Felton-Emrick and Grace O’Leary beat Abbi Holloway and Holly Hicks 6-1, 6-3 and in No. 2 doubles, Cierra-Rose Sheldon and Hashini Ratnatunge came up with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Olivia Wolbach and Kyleigh Dobosz. 

Mohawk Trail 4, PVCICS 1 — Paige King and Palmer King won singles matches to lead the Warriors past the Dragons on Friday in Buckland. 

Paige King won in No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-1 while Palmer King took No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0. Lizzie Lynch and Conner Herzig won 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 doubles for Mohawk Trail. PVCICS forfeited No. 2 doubles. 

Boys volleyball

Frontier 3, Granby 0 — Jesse Kurkolonis put down 15 kills and three aces to move the Redhawks to 5-0 in their inaugural season with a 25-13, 25-13, 28-26 sweep of the Rams in Granby on Friday. 

Tavo Vincent-Warner dished 19 assists and had three aces, Payton Sladeski made 14 digs and Theo Sargent served the final three aces to close out the second set in the win for Frontier.
