I’m one of the 70% of Massachusetts citizens who support passing a Death with Dignity law, according to a Boston Globe/Suffolk University poll in 2020. There’s all too much suffering in the world already. Why shouldn’t terminally ill people have the compassionate option of medical aid in dying? I strongly support this issue because I believe all human beings deserve to have choice in all transitions in life, including death. The bill in the Legislature now is called The End of Life Options Act (H.2381). I hope you’ll join me and contact the following legislative leaders: Senate President Karen Spilka (karen.spilka@masenate. gov); House Speaker Ronald Mariano (ronald.mariano@ mahouse.gov); and Rep. John Lawn, co-chair of the HealthCare Financing Committee (HCFC) john.lawn@ mahouse .gov. Urge them to support passage of this bill as soon as possible by the HCFC, and then by the full House and Senate before the session ends on July 31. Also, urge family and friends all over the state to contact them, too.
