Dollars for Wendell Scholars applications now available

WENDELL — Students who live in Wendell and plan to pursue an accredited post-secondary education next year can apply for Dollars for Wendell Scholars scholarships. Applications must be received by April 15.

Donations, which are now tax-deductible, can be made to Dollars for Wendell Scholars, P.O. Box 232, Wendell, MA 01379, with checks payable to Dollars for Wendell Scholars.

Company starts utility line work

NEW SALEM — Asplundh Construction is expected to upgrade the utility lines near Meacham Road and Route 122. The work will be conducted in this area over the next couple of weeks.

The New Salem Police Department took to its Facebook to ask motorists to use caution in the area.

Selectboard meets town accountant

WENDELL — At Wednesday’s Selectboard meeting, Erin Degnan introduced herself as the new accountant.

Town Coordinator Glenn Johnson-Mussad, himself recently hired, said Degnan works with the accounting program offered through the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG).
