Disc jockey and radio personality Robert “Bobby C” Campbell will once again provide hams to seniors, but this year he’s doing so for Easter.

Campbell said the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office TRIAD team will help deliver them to seniors across the county, including shut-ins.

Typically, the hams are distributed for Christmas. Campbell said he decided to do the distribution on Easter because COVID-19 case numbers were much higher late last year than they are now and because TRIAD delivered turkeys to seniors before Thanksgiving, so he didn’t want them to have to do the same with hams only a month later.

Campbell said his goal is to buy 300 hams. The TRIAD team will deliver them the week before Easter, on April 4. The 3-pound boneless hams are $15 each.

“We’re hoping to give as many of these out as we can,” he said. “If anyone wants to donate money to help support our community, our seniors, this event, we’d really appreciate it.”

Campbell, the founder of the fourth annual event, said it has grown every year.

“This year we have many shut-ins because of the pandemic,” he said. “They would love to have a ham delivered to them so they can make a nice Easter dinner.”
