SHELBURNE — As a result of limitations imposed on large gatherings in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shelburne Selectboard has voted to postpone the May Annual Town Meeting and town election.
According to Town Clerk Joe Judd, the new date for the Annual Town Meeting is June 15. It will be held at Town Hall, 51 Bridge St., at 7 p.m.
Acting on Judd’s recommendation, the Selectboard also voted to postpone the town election until June 23. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“There are no races this year for any of the open elected positions,” Judd said.
The positions that will appear on the ballot, and candidates who have turned in nomination papers, are as follows:
■Selectboard, three-year term — no candidate
■Assessor, three-year term — Shaw Allen
■Town clerk, one-year term — Joseph Judd
■Moderator, one-year term — Sylvia Smith
■Shelburne Free Public Library trustee, three-year term — Theodore Sicker
■Shelburne Free Public Library trustee, three-year term — no candidate
■Shelburne Free Public Library trustee, one-year term — Thomas Hale
■Planning Board, five-year term — T. Wilson Flanders
■Recreation Committee, five-year term — no candidate
■Recreation Committee, three-year term — no candidate
■Recreation Committee, one-year term — no candidate
■Housing Authority, five-year term — Roger Bowen Weld
■Housing Authority, four-year term — Margaret Payne
■Tree warden, one-year term — James T. Richardson
■Mohawk Trail Regional School District School Committee, three-year term — Julie Dubreuil
■Mohawk Trail Regional School District School Committee, one-year term — Leah Maldonado
■Constable, three-year term — no candidate
