BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Kiwanis Club’s annual chicken pot pie dinners are back, with an all-you-can-eat buffet served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Kiwanis Club member Dan Devine said the group holds four of the dinners each year at the United Church of Bernardston. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Devine said the dinner is “a giving event,” with proceeds often benefiting local organizations like The United Arc and Pioneer Valley Regional School’s programs. In addition to ticket proceeds, there will be a donation jar at the church for further fundraising.

“This week’s dinner will benefit the club,” he said. “It will go toward Bernardston Kiwanis scholarships, future events and more.”

Being a fan favorite, Devine said, the club has done its best to maintain the original chicken pot pie recipe for the more than 10 years the dinners have been offered. The dinner will also feature butternut squash, rolls and carrot cake for dessert. Frozen 10-inch chicken pot pies can also be purchased for $12 and brought home to cook, while supplies last.

Devine said around 20 club members volunteer to serve the guests. The group aims to feed around 150 people during the continuous seating.

“If we get more, that’s great,” he said, “and if we get less, that’s OK, too.”
