Teen Strength & Conditioning: Youth ages 13 and up will learn the basic techniques of proper strength and conditioning. Participants will learn the basic fundamental movements of: Clean, Snatch, Deadlift, Front/Back Squat and Jerk/Split Jerk. They will also focus on form and slow weight progression, and use light weight barbells. Fridays, 6 to 7 p.m., Adams Room, Jan. 10 to Feb. 28. No cost for Y members. Register at the Welcome Center.

Livestrong: A free 12-week fitness and wellness program for cancer survivors that focuses on building muscle mass and strength, increasing flexibility and endurance, and improving confidence, self-esteem and well-being. YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program: This year-long, weekly support class has a new session beginning in January and includes a YMCA membership. The program is making a difference in the fight against prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes. Basketball Skills & Drills: The youngest participating players learn the game of basketball and basic ball handling skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting. Children at higher levels continue to develop basic skills and begin to learn the rules of the game with a focus on offense, ball handling and shooting techniques. Teamwork is emphasized and passing, shooting and defensive skills are strengthened. For children ages 4 to 5, 6 to 9, and 10 to 12. Fees start at $25 for eight weeks of classes.

Girls Day Out: Jan. 26, from noon to 3 p.m. An annual afternoon celebrating all the women in our lives. Group exercise classes, massages, pampering, shopping and snacks. Free Childwatch with YMCA Family Memberships: Let Y staff watch your children and engage them in age-appropriate activities and projects while you work out, lap swim, relax in the sauna or get a massage. Parents’ Night Out: Parents deserve a night out, without children. Children ages 5 to 12 years old will engage in fun activities like sports, games and crafts. Children must wear sneakers. Bring your children fed and the YMCA will provide a snack later in the evening. Sign up at the Welcome Center. Saturday, Jan. 18, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Y members: $15 first child, $5 each additional sibling; non-members $30 first child, $5 each additional sibling.
