GREENFIELD — The owners of Sigda Flowers and Gifts, a High Street institution since opening in 1948, closed their doors last month, though the shop’s employees and floral designers are expected to reopen the operation in the same spot sometime this year.

Jaime and Heather Reloj have put the real estate at 284 High St. on the market through Cohn & Company, another local fixture that recently changed hands when Robert Cohn sold to developer and investor Timothy Grader in November. Attempts to contact Jaime Reloj were unsuccessful.

A sign posted to Sigda’s front door expressed gratitude for customers’ patronage and mentioned the plan to reopen in 2020.

Grader said the real estate — not the business — has a $299,500 price tag and had been on the market 22 days as of Thursday.

According to an article published in the Greenfield Recorder on Feb. 4, 2016, the Relojs purchased the business from the shop’s longtime owner, Rick Sigda, whose parents, Ted and Claire, opened it in 1948.
