I almost never shopped at Wilson’s when I was growing up in Shelburne. My family didn’t have much cash, and I made most of my clothes. However, there were some garments I needed that could only come from Wilson’s. When I was in second grade, I joined the Brownie Scouts, and in fourth grade, Girl Scouts, and I got my uniforms from Wilson’s. Then, when I started high school at Arms Academy, we were required to have a one-piece, cotton shirt/shorts uniform in our school color, red. Fortunately, I stopped growing after age 14, and the uniform was so sturdy it never needed to be replaced. In more recent years, I have bought mostly high-quality kitchen wares. I really appreciated the handy, free parking.
