Did you know that individuals who experience traumatic childhood events are more likely to die about 20 years sooner than those who don’t? We are writing to you in hopes of generating awareness around the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) screening being implemented in California.

ACE’s screenings provide individuals with a score due to various childhood traumas. It has been shown that the more traumatic one’s childhood, the higher your risk for later health problems are. Effective November 2019, California has created funding in order to pay for ACE’s screenings as well as trainings for doctors around trauma.

Doesn’t Massachusetts pride themselves on having top healthcare? So why aren’t we doing these screenings yet?
