Orange’s Justin Littlewood earned his first victory of the season, capturing the Late Model Sportsman event at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H., over the weekend.

Littlewood jumped off the outside pole to lead the first twelve circuits before his brother Cole got by for the lead and win. The redraw put Cole in the seventh starting spot in the second leg. Robert Hagar of Hartland, Vt., claimed the win followed by Shawn Stone of Montague. On the next redraw, Justin Littlewood’s third-place run was enough to earn him the overall victory.

The Sportsman Modifieds had fans on their feet. Greenfield’s Ben Byrne was in the lead by lap nine, and eventually Byrne captured first place by the slimmest of margins over Swanzey, N.H.’s Todd Patnode.

In the Young Gun race, Whately’s Jake Puchalski joined only three other drivers in collecting his 10th win of the season.
