CHARLEMONT — Of the town’s 913 registered voters, 108 cast a ballot in Tuesday’s annual election, sending eight residents to 10 municipal seats — though four still remain vacant.

The only ballot question, to exempt Charlemont from tax limits imposed by Proposition 2½ to pay for a bond to purchase a used fire truck for $150,000, was narrowly approved, with 46 voters in support of the measure and 42 against. Voters also approved the fire truck purchase at Tuesday’s Annual Town Meeting.

The following four town bodies have vacant seats: Mohawk Trail Regional District School Committee, Local Education Council, plus two on the Hawlemont Regional District School Committee.

Jonathan Healy was re-elected to a three-year Selectboard seat, receiving 83 votes.

Evelyn Locke was re-elected to a three-year position on the Mohawk Trail Regional District School Committee, receiving 87 votes. Locke was also re-elected to a three-year Tyler Library Trustee position, winning 91 votes.

Gisela Walker was re-elected to a five-year Planning Board seat, winning 87 votes.

William Harker was re-elected to a five-year Planning Board seat, securing 88 votes. He also won a three-year Board of Health seat as a write-in candidate, winning 19 votes.

Jackie Cashin secured a three-year Board of Assessors seat as a write-in candidate, winning 29 votes.

Thomas Shields was re-elected to a five-year Parks and Recreation Committee seat, with 90 votes.

Charlotte Dewey was re-elected as moderator with a one-year term, receiving 75 votes.

Erwin Reynolds Jr. was re-elected as constable with a three-year term, securing 90 votes.
