I’m curious the thought process that went into hiring Pioneer’s new principal Kevin Burke. He supposedly stepped down from Easthampton to spend more time with family but is now taking another principal job immediately? After the fiasco that was the last superintendent and principal combo that left their respective schools under similar circumstances, why was this man hired? It only makes matters worse that the other finalist for the job was Tom Gaffigan, a man who worked in the school system and knows what our school needs to thrive. Instead we’re going to an outsider who has proven unfit for his principal job in the past.
