Pamela Means is bringing her four-piece band to the Wendell Full Moon Coffeehouse on Saturday, April 13, for a concert to raise money for Village Neighbors.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. with an open mic session, with Means taking the stage at 8 p.m.
A multi-talented performer, singer, songwriter, composer and producer, Means’ multiple honors include being named Falcon Ridge Folk Festival’s Most Wanted New Artist, Wisconsin Folk Artist of the Year and Wisconsin Female Vocalist of the Year, according to her website.
From recording her first tape in the living room of Violent Femmes bassist Brian Ritchie, Means has gone on to share stages with artists including Ani DiFranco, Pete Seeger, Indigo Girls and Joan Baez, to name a few. She has produced seven independent releases.
According to a press release from the Full Moon Coffeehouse, every show at the venue benefits a local environmental or service organization. The April 13 concert will benefit Village Neighbors, which provides seniors with transportation, helping hands for small tasks at home, friendly visits and computer help.
Village Neighbors launched on Oct. 15, 2018, providing services to people ages 60 and older in Shutesbury, Wendell, New Salem and Leverett. It is a member of the Village to Village Network, a consortium of nonprofits providing volunteer services for seniors in 350 communities across the country.
Tickets are $6 to $15, cash only. For open mic sign-up and further information, visit wendellfullmoon.org or call 978-544-5557.
