GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Garden Club is again offering small grants to any teacher, school or organization that works with children in any town in Franklin County, and wants to create a project that involves gardening, plant science, ecology or any related subject matter.

Grants awarded in the past have typically averaged between $50 and $200. To apply, a proposal must be submitted and include the following material: the project’s title; contact information, including address; project details; the number of students/children/community members involved, including who will benefit; projected cost of the project. Graphs, charts and photographs may be included.

Send a one- to three-page proposal to Greenfield Garden Club Grant Committee. Proposals must be received by midnight, Sunday, March 3. No late proposals will be read. The Greenfield Garden Club Grant Committee will meet to review the proposals on Monday, March 4, and award checks will be mailed shortly after. All proposals will be read in their entirety by the committee chair with all identifying details omitted to ensure a non-biased and impartial decision.

Proposals may be mailed or emailed to: Laura Schlaikjer, Greenfield Garden Club, P.O. Box 309, Greenfield, MA 01302-0309 or greenfieldgardenclub@yahoo.com
