Ellen Abraham, owner of Burning Heart Studio, has had her hands full since her business opened in January 2013.

Abraham’s yoga, spinning, pilates and whole foods living programs were so popular at her business’ original location at 278 Main St. in Greenfield that she opened another branch at 191 Russell St. in Hadley.

To celebrate the business’ progression over the past year, the Hadley branch will hold a grand re-opening celebration on Saturday, Oct. 20.

According to Abraham, the celebration will include a succession of classes starting at 9 a.m. through early afternoon to give visitors a feel for the types of classes offered and the instructors who oversee them. Merchandise will be sold at discounted rates, local food and beverages will be served and a raffle will give guests the opportunity to win some Burning Heart Studio merchandise.

“Its been a big year,” Abraham explained. “We worked tirelessly to get the studio open last year, and we are simply celebrating all of our hard work in a new way.”

Abraham said she’s seen Pioneer Valley residents’ need for well-being firsthand through sold-out classes, waitlists and an expanding client base, giving her the motivation to expand the business to Hadley.

“So many people today are sick, depressed, isolated and living unconsciously, and just don’t feel well,” she explained. “There’s an authentic need, a deep-rooted desire for well-being and connection: to be happy, whole and powerful. Burning Heart is committed to creating a space for everyone, wherever they show up in that process, however they may walk through the door.”

Abraham previously owned several studios in the southern Vermont and New Hampshire area including Hot Yoga of Putney which opened in 2005 and grew into Hot Yoga, Spin and Pilates in 2006, and finally Some Like It Hot in 2007. She also working at spinning and yoga studios in New York City.
