Dance video game night

NORTHFIELD — People of all ages, but especially children, are invited to the Dickinson Library on Friday, 6 to 7 p.m., to play “Just Dance.”

The game uses a webcam-style setup to match your dancing to on-screen cues. Up to four dancers can play at once. Hot dogs will be provided.

Fiber art show in Northfield

NORTHFIELD — “FABRICATED” is the exhibit running now through Sept. 16 at the Center for the Arts, at 105 Main St.

The show features 12 artists from throughout New England, including five members of the Fiberistas, a western Massachusetts-based group of female fiber artists.

Fiber arts encompass a wide variety of media, all involving fabric of some kind.

On display are tapestries, quilts, fabric sculptures, hats, bags, scarves, shawls, and others.

The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on Aug. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Center for the Arts.

Appalachian Still, acoustic string band

BERNARDSTON — Appalachian Still, a Northampton band whose style combines bluegrass, rock and folk, will play a free concert outside the Cushman Library on Friday at 7 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinners.

The concert is sponsored by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Friends of the Cushman Library and Pioneer Valley Tire.

If it rains, the concert will be held inside the Unitarian Church.

Calamity Physics, New England contra dance band

NORTHFIELD — Calamity Physics, a traditional contra-style band with violins, mandolins, piano and whistles, will play at the pavilion outside the Northfield Town Hall on Aug. 11.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and dancing shoes.

The concert is sponsored by the library and the Council on Aging.
