It was an impressive march to the Franklin County Babe Ruth League championship for Parody Builders.

The second-seeded team in the four-team, double-elimination field, Parody ran the table with a perfect 3-0 record, capping off the title run with an 18-6 victory in five innings against third-seeded Turners Falls Athletic Club in the championship game Saturday at Abercrombie Field in Greenfield.

Parody came into the finals out of the winner’s bracket and needed to beat TFAC just once to earn the title. TFAC, which emerged from the loser’s bracket, would have had to beat Parody twice to win the crown.

Jake Whitney had a big game to help Parody Builders to the title. Whitney struck out four in three innings on the mound, and was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs at the plate. He scored the tying run in the fourth inning on an RBI double by Todd Chiasson.

Chiasson was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in the win, while Pat Boyden singled and drove in a run to score Chiasson with the go-ahead run in the fourth.

Liam Skribiski-Banack and Andrew Shaw each had a hit and an RBI for Parody, while teammate Iain Spearance scored a run. Zack Damon scored twice, while Emilio DiDonna, Luc Belheumer and Whitney all scored in the fifth inning.

TFAC scored all six of its runs in the top of the third inning, taking the lead early in the contest. Joe Boyden hit a bases-loaded double to score three runs, while Jake Safford, Nate Fuess and Ethan Russell all drove in runs in the frame. Feuss and Russell drove in runs with doubles. Charlie Boyden went 2-for-2 day at the plate, and Danny Phillips chipped in a run.

Boyden, Noah Uzdavinis and Safford teamed up for a double play in the field in the fifth inning to quell a Parody offensive threat.
