GREENFIELD — As of Tuesday, July 31, the Peter Pan Bus Line which stops at the John Olver Transportation Center, will be reducing its stops in half due to extremely low ridership, according to Peter Pan Bus Marketing Director Danielle Veronedi.

“We monitor and track the lines and due to low ridership, we are reducing from four stops to two,” said Veronedi.

The new schedule states the buses will depart from Greenfield at 9:51 a.m. and arrive at Albany at 12:59 p.m. with an evening schedule departing from Albany at 1:57 p.m. and arriving at Greenfield at 5:05 p.m.

Currently there are three departure times from Greenfield — 8:25 a.m., 9:51 a.m., 5:05 p.m. — with arrivals of 2:40 p.m., 12:59 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. in Albany, respectively, according to the Peter Pan Bus Line website.

The John Olver Transit Center, where the Peter Pan Bus Lines stops in Greenfield, is also home to the Franklin Regional Transit Authority and a stop on Greyhound’s bus lines as well.

Chairman of the Franklin Regional Transit Authority, Tina Cote, said she had not been informed of the schedule change by Peter Pan Bus Line.

“It’s disturbing to hear this,” Cote said. “We still have Greyhound, but we were the last to know this.”
