Swim and Gymnastics Lessons: The Y is offering summer swim lessons for-6 month to 12-year-olds. The Y is also offering summer gymnastics lessons for 4- to 12-year-olds. The classes meet once a week for eight weeks, starting the week of June 25. Financial aid is available that can cover up to 70 percent of the course fees. Youth Track and Field: For six Mondays this summer, the Y is offering a track and field program for 3- to 16-year-olds. The program meets at Mohawk High School on their rubberized track. The events are age appropriate with 50 to 200 meter sprints, mile runs, long jump, shot put (ball throw), discus, etc. See page six of the summer “Brochure” at: ymcaingreenfield.org for details. The nightly fee is $5 per child; register at the track each night.

Adult Water Fitness/Therapy Classes: Beginning June 25, the Y’s summer session of adult water fitness and therapy classes is starting. There are two levels of water therapy for those healing or dealing with chronic pain or injury. There are three levels of water fitness classes which provide a safe, “no impact,” cardio and strength workout. See page eight of the “Brochure” at: ymcaingreenfield.org for class details and prices. Gymnastics Camp: This camp for ages 4 to 14 is held in the Y’s air-conditioned gymnastics center. Full-day camp (ages 5 to 14) is designed for boys and girls interested in any level of gymnastics. Each group of gymnasts rotates through different instructional areas each day, including beam, bars, vault, floor, dance and Kid-Fit. Afternoon activities include a recreational swim. Full-day camp runs Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fees are $190 for Y members, $200 for program associates, $210 for nonmembers. Mini camp (ages 4 to 5) is a shorter day camp experience for younger gymnasts. They will arrive in the morning, rotate through the instructional areas and have snack and lunch. Children 5 years old may choose to start the summer with this camp and progress to full day camp later in the summer. Mini camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fees are $140 for Y members, $150 for program associates, $160 for nonmembers. Half-day camp (morning and afternoon options for ages 5 to 14) provides a shorter day camp experience for newer gymnasts. Half-day camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or noon to 4 p.m. Both camps include free lunch. Option of extended care from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Y’s game room.

Summer Memberships: The Y offers special summer memberships valid until Sept. 2. Memberships include over 60 group exercise classes per week, yoga, barre classes, lap pool, basketball court, Jacuzzi, weight room, cardio equipment, starter fitness support and more. Summer Birthday Party Options: The Y offers a variety of birthday party options for 1 to 14 year olds. There is the Gymnastics Center (ages 1 to 14) on Sundays at 9 and 10:50 a.m.; Ninja Challenge (ages 8 to 14) on Sundays at 9:30 and 10:50 a.m.; and Camp Apex with a pool, tube slide, two pavilions, bath house, ball field and more on Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m. Call Bill at 773-3646, ext. 447, for dates and prices.

Summer Full Day Preschool: The Y has a few five-day openings and a few Tuesday/Thursday openings for summer preschool. There are two air-conditioned classrooms, an outdoor play area, basketball court and pool. Camp Apex for ages 5 to 14: Camp Apex is the Y’s outdoor camp located three miles west of the rotary on Peckville Road. The camp operates nine weeks this summer with weekly themes and several specialty themes. The camp is for boys and girls ages 5 to 14. Sports Camp for ages 6 to 14: The Y offers a sports camp with eight weeks of sport choices for boys and girls ages 6 to 14. All abilities are welcome. There are half-day options from 9 a.m. to noon or noon to 4 p.m.; and full day programs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sport options include basketball, recess games, gaga/dodgeball, flag football and multi-sport. The camp uses the Y’s air conditioned gym, pool, game room and Kid-Fit Center. Some financial aid is available.
