Teen Open Mic Night: Musicians, poets, comedians, and performers grades 5 to 12: It’s your turn to take the stage! The Greenfield Recreation Department is excited to offer our second teens only open mic night at the Energy Park in downtown Greenfield. Entry is free. Event will be held on Friday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.; sign-up list opens at 5:30.
Learn to Play Pickleball: Curious about Pickleball’s growing popularity, but unsure of how to play? This free one-day clinic will provide an introduction to the rules and game-play of this widely accessible sport. Open to new players of all ages; bring the while family. Equipment will be available for use. Ages 6 and up. Clinic will be held Saturday, June 9, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Green River Park Pickleball Court.
Bike Rodeo: Greenfield Recreation, Greenfield Bicycle Coalition, Kiwanis Club and Safe Routes to School are organizing a Bike Rodeo. Come learn how to safely navigate the streets while biking. Practice on our interactive course. The rodeo will include bike safety, helmet safety check, and more. A limited number of free bike helmets will be available. Rodeo will be Saturday, June 9, with grades K to 4 biking from 1 to 2 p.m., Grades 4 to 8 and experienced riders will bike from 2 to 3 p.m. Event takes place at the Greenfield Middle School.
Hillside Block Party: Join us for this year’s Hillside Block Party with music, games, inflatable activities, food, friends, neighbors and fun. Celebrate in our neighborhood park on Thursday, June 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hillside Park.
Movie in the Park: Friday, June 22, at the Green River Swim Area, enjoy a film outdoors on the big screen with family and friends. This week, the film “Ferdinand” will be shown. Movies begin at dusk, typically between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, sit back, relax and enjoy the show. For movies at the Green River Swim Area, daily gate rates apply. Movies in the Park is sponsored by Safe Schools, Safe Streets and Franklin First Federal Credit Union.
Energy Park Concert: Will Evans has spent the last decade as the primary song writer, drummer and front man for the roots rock outfit Barefoot Truth. He has since opened a new chapter in his musical journey as a solo artist, receiving national attention as a top ten finalist on Guitar Center sponsored “Search for the Next Great American Songwriter.” He will perform on Sunday, June 24, at 6 p.m. at Energy Park. There is a $15 suggested donation.
