GREENFIELD — Dillon Chevrolet is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet trucks with a vintage truck show Saturday at their Greenfield dealership, 54 Main St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We plan on having music, food, artists and sunshine,” said Jay Dillon, who with his brother Tom represents the second generation of family ownership at Dillon Chevrolet. Dillon said they anticipate more than 30 vintage Chevrolet trucks on display by area owners. Anyone with a pre-1987 Chevrolet truck is invited to participate.
Inspired by Chevy factory workers who modified vehicles to haul heavy supplies around the plant, Chevrolet created its first “purpose-built” truck, called the One-Ton, in 1918, according to a press release from Chevrolet.
The public is invited to come see these vintage vehicles. The event is free and open to all. For more information, call Dillon Chevrolet at 413-773-3678.
