DEERFIELD — A traffic stop for darkly tinted windows led to a cocaine bust.

Malissa Burnor, 26, from Colchester, Vt., and Stephon Dawson, 29, of Springfield were arrested on trafficking cocaine, conspiring to break drug laws, and drug possession early Monday morning. In addition, Burnor was charged with excessive window tint, tire tread depth, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

State troopers Anthony Lavigne and Patrick Styckiewicz made the stop around 12:30 a.m., according to a press release from the State Police’s media office. The statement notes that “as a result of an investigation, both were found to be in possession of cocaine.”

Burnor and Dawson were placed under arrest and taken to the State Police Shelburne Falls Barracks for booking. Bail was set at $50,000 each.
