13th Annual Peter Cottontail’s EGGstravaganza will be Saturday, March 31, at 1 p.m. at Unity Park. (Snow postponement date is Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m.) Children ages 4 to 12 are invited to take part in this tradition. Pictures with Peter Cottontail, raffles, bake sale and egg hunt. Approximately 5,000 candy and toy-filled eggs will be strewn throughout the park. Participants must bring their own basket/bag for the eggs. Tee Ball: Program for children ages 4 to 6. Children must be at least 4 before the start date of the program. Proof of age will be required at registration. April 21 to June 2, Saturday mornings 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Early bird registration fee: Montague residents $35, non-residents $40 (last day of early bird rates is March 23). Regular fee: Montague residents $40, non-residents $45. Registration deadline Friday, March 30, or until roster is full.
Rookie League Baseball program for ages 7 to 9 runs April 21 to June 2. Intra-squad games take place on Saturdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Fees: Montague residents $40, non-residents $45. It is recommended kindergarten players start with tee ball before playing rookie ball. This is a coach-pitch instructional program. All players must bring their own glove; cleats allowed (non-metal). Enrollment minimum 10, enrollment maximum depending on the number of coaches. Registration deadline Friday, March 30, or until roster is full.
Nipper League Girls Softball: The Purple Panthers, for girls ages 7 to 9, runs early April through mid-June. Practices on weekdays, with days/times dependent upon coaches’ schedule. Games vary week-to-week (weeknights and Saturdays). Fees: Montague residents $65, non-residents $70. It is recommended kindergarten players start with tee ball before playing Nipper League. Team consists of members of the Greenfield Girls Softball League and all games are played at Murphy Park. This is a coach-pitch program. All players must bring their own glove. Cleats allowed (non-metal). Enrollment minimum 9, maximum 12. Registration deadline Friday, March 30, or until roster is full.
