HADLEY — David Breen, CEO of PiNZ, is very clear about what he wants people to do in his establishment when it opens in the Hampshire Mall — have fun.

PiNZ is a bowling and entertainment franchise with two other Massachusetts locations.

The establishment is looking to hire about 75 full- and part-time staff, and is set to open this December.

Breen noted that the PiNZ’s eight black-colored bowling lanes will not be used for bowling leagues. Rather, the bowling will be geared for the average bowler, and it won’t be the only entertainment option on-site.

Some 40 games will also be available, some of which will dispense tickets for prizes. These games will be operated by a card system.

PiNZ will also feature a restaurant with a full bar, and 14 beers on tap.

While there will be space for local bands to play, Breen said that the Hampshire Mall PiNZ will not be a concert venue.

PiNZ and Planet Fitness are counted by Hampshire Mall among the 60,000 square feet of new or remodeled retail and entertainment space that’s been put into the mall this year.

Some of the changes at the mall this year, which next year will mark its 40th anniversary, include PetSmart, which opened last spring in the prominent spot formerly occupied by Best Buy; and the Autobahn Indoor Speedway, a go-karting facility that opened near Dick’s late last year.

Mall marketing director Lisa Wray said that while the mall is looking to add more dining and entertainment options, there will always be a retail component to the space.
