ORANGE — The Rodney Hunt Fontaine Inc. factory is on the real estate market, having ceased operations at the end of 2016.
The 37.87-acre, 234,000-square-foot property is listed for $2.2 million according to Art Ross, a broker with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, the real estate service firm overseeing the property sale. Ross said some company personnel are still on site during decommissioning, though the 177-year-old facility will likely be vacated or nearly vacated late in the year’s first quarter or early into the second.
Rodney Hunt announced the plant closure, and impending loss of 200 jobs to another factory in Pittsburgh on Oct. 4, 2015. Owned by Rexnord Corp., the company manufactures fluid valves and flood gates. A phone call to Rexnord was not returned before presstime.
Any person or business interested in the Orange property can call Ross at 860-803-9938.
