CHARLEMONT – A man was taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield after a rollover on Route 2 near Leavitt Cemetery early Saturday morning.
According to Charlemont Fire Capt. Greg Dekofschak, Charlemont and Shelburne fire departments responded shortly after 8 a.m., and a Shelburne Falls ambulance transported the driver, the sole occupant of the Subaru wagon, to the hospital with injuries unknown to Dekofschak.
The vehicle was severely damaged, Dekofschak said, and was towed. He believes the crash resulted from road conditions.
“The road surface was very slippery this morning,” he said. “That was definitely a factor.”
