5:47 p.m. — Call from New Hampshire State Police barracks reporting they are pinging a phone that is coming back to a Third Street location in Turners Falls, and the male that is wanted for a felony assault on his girlfriend and is also wanted by parole; officers found the male at the Third Street address and arrested was Robert Anthony Johnson, 27, unknown address in New Hampshire, and charged as being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant.
9:05 p.m. — Caller states he is the owner of the Laundromat on Third Street and he logged into his cameras from his phone, and there are people sleeping in the laundry; officer is assisting on an arrest, and will respond to this after the person is booked; the people at the laundry were gone on arrival.
1:26 p.m. — Caller from Baystate Franklin Medical Center on High Street requesting assistance with a check that was returned from a customer; the amount is $13.85, plus a $6 fee. They will bring a copy of the check to the police station; she was informed by Greenfield Savings Bank that there were insufficient funds.
3:21 p.m. — Officers on Main Street to serve a warrant; arrested was Shaun Michael Maynard, 38, of unknown address, in Greenfield.
3:46 p.m. — Accident reported on Federal Street near the middle school; caller is a third party making the call to report a child was struck by a vehicle, but unknown additional information; report of a child struck by a vehicle, possible bus involved; officer then determined it was not as reported, no bus involved and the person struck is not a child, and it was minor injuries; report issued.
4:28 p.m. — Accident reported at Silver and Summer streets, two vehicles involved, minor damage, but no injuries reported. Report issued.
5:07 p.m. — Caller from area of the Town Hall on Court Square complaining that a vehicle is parked in an electric car charging spot that isn’t charging at this time, and the reporting person wants to utilize the charging station; a sergeant was contacted, and advised; he advised that since the parking personnel are gone for the night, the Police Department is limited as to this issue; he advised of two other charging spots in town, and this was passed along to the reporting person.
5:18 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at Baystate Franklin Medical Center on High Street; officers sent, and the male eventually calmed down, and he was escorted from the building and transported to the Rodeway Inn.
5:35 p.m. — Caller from the Winslow Building on Wells Street reports a large orange road cone, that had his name on it, was stolen from the parking spot he was blocking at this location; the cone was left in the public parking lot, blocking a handicap space, but the cone was gone on officer’s arrival; units will BOLO for the cone, and then the BOLO was canceled, as the cone was located, and is in the possession of the building manager.
8:08 p.m. — Officer checking for vehicles reported to be blocking a fire hydrant on Vermont Street; the vehicle was parked about seven feet from the plug, and the Fire Department advises they need 5 feet; as result, the vehicle appears to be parked legally; there are several other vehicles parked on the tree belt in the area.
3:36 a.m. — Officer out with a suspicious auto on Cabot Camp on East Mineral road, two females stated they got out of work a few hours ago and didn’t want to drive all the way home, so they were resting there; the women were moved along.
10:48 a.m. — Caller from Fifth Street reports her EBT card was stolen and used; she also has a female staying with her, and whom she believes may have taken it. Situation under investigation, and awaiting a statement from the victim.
1:37 p.m. — A male turned himself in at the station, and was taken into custody; arrested was Charles J. Cummings, 40, of Farren Avenue, Turners Falls, on a straight warrant.
8:04 p.m. — Reporting person states that a dark colored hatchback came over the bridge at Avenue A and Second Street and hit a parked car and kept speeding down Avenue A away from the bridge. The officers found the vehicle that was hit appears to be a dark Volkswagen parked across the street from the Between The Uprights; units cleared and report taken by both units will continue to BOLO, and an accident number was assigned.
9:03 p.m. — Caller from Fourth Street states there is a male outside assaulting a female and kicking her car which is activating the car alarm; officers sent, and the reporting person doesn’t know who the male is, but states he is wearing no shirt; and the reporting person is stating that she can hear the female asking the male to leave, and he is refusing. Officers on scene, and both people have been spoken to but nothing physical found, only verbal, and both people have agreed to stay apart for the remainder of the night.
7:57 a.m. — Caller from Sandrah Drive advising that she thinks someone may have tried to break into her house; on Monday night she head a “thud” outside, but disregarded it; today she noticed that the basement window screens were up, but nothing else seems to be disturbed; she was advised to contact police if there is a repeat situation.
8:40 a.m. — Call into the station reported a large snake on the playground at Dexter Park School; on officer’s arrival, the snake was neutralized and removed.
4 p.m. — Shelburne Control reports a general disturbance on West Main Street where there is some type of problem between a male and female in the center of town. The individuals were located and it was found to be a verbal altercation only; the individuals were sent on their way.
9:25 p.m. — General disturbance reported on Tully Road where employees request police for an intoxicated male, who is threatening another patron; both units responded, and one belligerent male taken into protective custody,
4:11 a.m. — Disturbance at the Rodeway Inn on the Mohawk Trail where the caller reports a female is in the lobby and breakfast area and trashing both; the reporting person is now outside; the caller states she doesn’t believe the female has any weapons, but she did make threats, like “you deserve to die.” Officers sent, and found the female having a psychiatric episode, and she was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, under a Section 12 process, and it was done without issue. The Section 12 was filed and given to the hospital staff; the female was cooperative throughout the incident.
10:05 a.m. — Caller from Wildwood Avenue reporting a female is posting nude photos of her on Facebook; officer spoke with the reporting person and the photo has been taken down; the officer will attempt to contact the suspect in person, as the in house phone number isn’t working.
12:20 p.m. — A caller at Greenfield Farmer’s Cooperative Exchange, reported that a blue 2014 Honda Civic had struck a bicyclist at the intersection of High Street and Lincoln Street. Fire Department was dispatched and found the bicyclist was knocked down, but not injured.
5:21 p.m. — An accident without injuries occurred at Applebee’s, located at 141 Mohawk Trail, between a 2010 red Chevrolet Cobalt and a brown 2014 Nissan Versa. Police found major damage to the vehicles and one operator was cited for failure to use care while turning.
9:13 p.m. — A caller on Conway Street reported his Donald Trump sign that was 6 feet tall and 10 feet long, was stolen from his property.
10:14 a.m. — Caller from Twelfth Street requests an officer attempt to make contact with a named female, and if located, advise her to call Greenfield Police regarding a hit-and-run accident involving her vehicle, a blue Dodge Avenger; Greenfield tried several times through phone calls, but none of which were in service; officer from Montague advised no vehicle was at the address and he will check at the door, but there was no answer at the door and a business card was left in the door with information to contact Greenfield Police.
12:15 p.m. — Accident reported on East River Street from where the caller says they had a vehicle strike one of the poles in the parking lot there; officer’s found that the operator had taken a turn too sharp and struck one of the yellow cement poles causing damage to the driver’s side door; the operator was located and advised to contact her insurance company.
4:15 p.m. — Officers on Columbia Avenue to serve a warrant; arrested was William P. Breor Jr., 24, of Columbia Avenue, Orange, on two warrants out of Greenfield District Court.
5:15 p.m. — Control got a report that a pitbull got loose in the Wal-Mart parking lot, and when he was able to catch it, he struck the dog multiple times; the reporting person states a female, who is a witness, is involved in a verbal altercation with the male; after officers investigated the incident there were no sign of physical abuse of the dog; however, the owner of the dog was taken in custody for an active warrant; arrested was Tyler Scott Smith, 30, of Brookside Road, Orange, on a default warrant; and he was taken to the station for booking.
