As a human being who lives on this planet, I have become aware of some close-minded ignorant behavior that is taking place in The Recorder. Rev. Michael Grant wrote a letter and stated he is disturbed by individuals wishing to support gay/transgender lifestyles and the backlash against those who don’t. What planet do you live on? Gay and transgender people are everywhere. They are no different than you Rev. Grant. They are teachers, doctors, police, fire, EMS, sales people, politicians, your neighbors and CHILDREN AT EVERY HIGH SCHOOL! They are the children at Mohawk. Most schools have LGBT clubs. And backlash? Seriously? It’s not disturbing to support a group. No one is recruiting. People are educating. People are being kind to one another and accepting their differences. Why are you so threatened by different? Everyone should wear purple, fly the rainbow flag and teach people to support this group of people whose “lifestyle” is no different than yours. It’s 2016. Gay is the new purple. LGBT IS the rainbow.
