Here are this week’s bird sightings from the Voice of Audubon for western Massachusetts:

Orange-crowned warblers were noted in Huntington and Northampton, while Connecticut warblers were reported in Belchertown, Northampton, Williamstown and Longmeadow.

Four blue-winged teal, 34 great egrets and an American coot were found in Longmeadow.

Two lesser scaup and a dunlin were seen in Pittsfield, and a Nelson’s sharp-tailed sparrow was found in Tyringham.

Three sandhill cranes continue to be seen in Tolland, a gadwall and an American coot were reported at Turners Falls and a clay-colored sparrow was seen in Hadley.

Others reported included American wigeon, green-winged teal, pied-billed grebe, American bittern, green heron, northern harrier, peregrine falcon, merlin, greater and lesser yellowlegs and solitary sandpiper, as well as ruby-throated hummingbird, least flycatcher, wood pewee, Philadelphia vireo, Swainson’s thrush, American pipit, ovenbird, indigo bunting, bobolink, rusty blackbird, pine siskin and purple finch. Also, ovenbird, northern parula, Tennessee warbler, bay-breasted warbler, chestnut-sided warbler, blackpoll warbler, black-throated blue, warbler black-throated green warbler, palm warbler and yellow warbler.
