12:14 a.m. — Caller from Armory Street apartments has an unwanted person there, and repots her daughter is refusing to leave the apartment; intoxication is involved. Situation investigated.
8:39 a.m. — Report of unwanted person at Brown Motors repair facility on Beacon Street; officers sent, but the person was gone on arrival of police.
7:05 p.m. — Caller reported a white female with brown hair, possibly in her 40s, on the ground partially under her vehicles and partially on the side of the road in front of Wilson’s Department Store, located at 258 Main St. Caller believed the woman may be intoxicated. Police moved the subject along.
11:13 p.m. — Caller reported a hit and run in front of Ryan and Casey Liquors, located at 55 Main St. Caller said her friend was driving her gray 2004 Saturn Vue and parked on the side of the building. Someone reportedly hit the passenger side mirror while the driver was in the store between 10:20 and 10:30 p.m. Driver advised Ryan and Casey staff, but did not call police. Caller notified police of a possible white paint transfer and police intend to check Ryan and Casey surveillance videos.
6:11 a.m. — Caller reported a hit and run near the Sunoco gas station at 416 Federal St. The driver of a red 2002 Saturn was traveling north on Federal Street and turned west onto Silver Street. Meanwhile, the driver of a 2004 gray Oldsmobile Alero was traveling on Bernardston Road and turned south onto Federal Street. The Saturn struck the driver’s side of the Oldsmobile and its driver continued, stopping on Wells Street with a flat tire. There were no injuries and no airbag deployment in either vehicle. After police assisted with the tire change, both vehicles were operable.
12:20 p.m. — An accident with minor injuries occurred at the Interstate 91 rotary when the operator of a blue 2016 Chevrolet Cruze rear-ended a gray 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. Two Medcare units transported a total of four individuals to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
11:24 a.m. — Loud noise disturbance reported on Goddard Avenue, and in the woods behind the house; the reporting person says that yesterday around 4 p.m., she heard a gunshot coming from in the woods; the reporting person states she went into the woods walking and then heard another gunshot; she never saw anyone with a gun; the reporting person advised she will call back if she hears them again.
12:56 p.m. — Report of a missing 2-year-old child from Fourth Street and the reporting person states she is calling for her neighbor, and both units were dispatched; while on the line getting information, the child was located within 30 seconds of the phone call; no police response needed, the child is fine.
2:09 p.m. — General fire alarm came in via radio; A1 unit was on a medical call at the time of the alarm sounding, Chief Zellman on the scene, and is advising it was burnt food in one apartment.
4:29 p.m. — Caller from Coolidge Avenue is reporting her two young children are being harassed by some other kids in the neighborhood; the reporting person has attempted to reach out to their parents, with negative results; officer spoke with everyone involved, children and parents; peace was restored, for now.
5:06 p.m. — Caller from area of Main and South streets where the 911 caller reports she was just in an accident, no injuries reported, but she may need a tow truck. Caller also states her vehicle is up on somebody’s front lawn; she was cited for failure to use care at an intersection.
6:32 p.m. — Caller from Goddard Avenue states there is a tent out in the woods that she believes is on her property; officer located the tent and has taken it down; also located some property, including the tent, sleeping bag, and an army bag, with a name stenciled on the bag, and will be seizing it, and placing it all in cage two.
9:35 p.m. — Caller from Oakman Street reports hearing two loud booms; nothing found or heard.
12:50 p.m. — Hazard reported on East Main Street where the reporting person at the station stated it appears there might be a water main break there as there is water coming out of the pavement; Orange Water Department was contacted and advised of the problem.
2:40 p.m. — Shelburne Control got a report stating that a known man is trying to tamper with the electric box on Pleasant Street; on officer’s arrival the man said that he was seeing if he could get power to the home there; he was advised that if he damages the electric box, he will face vandalism charges for his actions.
7:57 p.m. — Truck and a motorcycle accident at East Main Street and Water Street, with serious injury; LifeFlight was requested; the operator fled, but was later located and identified, and taken into custody; arrested was Timothy LeDoux, 50, of East Main Street, Orange, charged with operating under the influence of liquor, third offense, causing serious bodily injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failing to use care turning, leaving the scene of property damage, and leaving the scene of personal injury. He was ordered held under $7,500 bail.
Greenfield, Sept. 4
12:34 a.m. — A caller at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, located at 164 High St., reported a man named “Clayton” and an unknown woman stole her purse about 45 minutes earlier. The purse contained more than $300. The caller believed the two went to a house at Iris Center. Her property was recovered.
2:41 p.m. — A caller at Cumberland Farms, located at 317 Federal St., reported he left his wallet on top of his car and drove away. Some of the wallets contents were recovered, but not all.
Orange, Sept. 4
12:50 a.m. — Reporting person requesting a welfare check on her ex-boyfriend; she states they broke up this evening, and he has sent concerning text messages; on officer’s arrival at the ex-boyfriend’s location the former boyfriend stated he had no intention of harming himself.
9:25 a.m. — Shelburne Control reports an unwanted person on the property; the unwanted person was spoken with, and told that they couldn’t be in business or operating area on Airport Drive, or they would be subject to arrest.
4:41 p.m. — Report of a two-car accident in front of the Athol/Orange Elks Club, from where one person was transported with minor injuries, and one vehicle was towed from the scene; citation to be mailed to one operator for failure to use care in turning, and impeded operation.
5:53 p.m. — Control took a call from the owner of a business on East Main Street wanting to speak with an officer regarding a person who lives across the street, looking over at him with binoculars; officer spoke with the reporting person who said the man looks over at them with the binoculars and walks up the street yelling; the reporting person would just like police aware of this.
7:15 p.m. — Reporting person requesting an officer regarding Facebook messages he received from a defendant in a criminal case in which the reporting person is a witness; the reporting person will print messages and bring in the same tomorrow.
1:03 p.m. — Larceny reported by caller who states his Kindle was stolen from his locker at the King’s Gym on Main Street; the reporting person had placed his Kindle on the bench in the locker room once he completed his work out and changed; the reporting person drove home, and then realized he left his Kindle at the gym; the reporting person returned to the gym but was unable to locate the Kindle; he checked with the staff there and found no Kindle had been turned in; no suspects at this time.
4:53 p.m. — Officer located one male consuming an alcoholic beverage on the benches at Main and Miles streets, and the 53-year-old man from Deerfield Street will be summoned to court for having or drinking from an open container of alcohol, in public.
5:36 p.m. — Caller from the Franklin County Emergency Shelter on Wells Street from where a call referred to plates missing off his vehicle; the officer seized them earlier today as they were revoked due to lack of insurance.
8:49 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Lilac Court where the caller reported a male on the property that shouldn’t be (where the construction is, behind the locked gate); officers found the person is employed by the bank that is lending money for the construction project, and same had to take photos of the progress; the project manager had a late flight to the area, for a once a month inspection.
10:43 p.m. — Despondent person reported at Baystate Franklin Medical Center where a caller reported a friend who is homeless, and has been making suicidal comments; she has her at the hospital now, and was told to call police to come and speak with her; services rendered.
6:52 a.m. — General disturbance reported on Avenue A where the caller reports that while outside his apartment building he got into a verbal altercation with his upstairs neighbor, and the female neighbor spit in his face; officer advises he spoke with the reporting person who just wanted this on record, for now.
