NORTHFIELD — Julia Blyth was elected to fill the three-year Selectboard seat vacated by Jed Proujansky in an uncontested race Tuesday, while Theresa Quinn and Matthew Sheridan were elected to the Recreation Commission and Deborah A. Potee and Margot W. Fleck to the Board of Library Trustees in the town’s only contested races.
Town Clerk Dan Campbell said less than 10 percent of Northfield voters turned out for the town election, with a total of 269 votes cast. Besides the Selectboard opening, many of the seats were uncontested. However, four candidates sought two three-year seats on the Recreation Commission, while three vied for two three-year seats on the Board of Library Trustees.
Quinn, who received 136 votes, and Sheridan, who received 115 votes, are both newcomers to the Recreation Commission, beating challengers Robin Conley (96) and Kristen Gonzales (87). Potee and Fleck ran for re-election to the Board of Library Trustees and received 227 and 189 votes respectively, while challenger Robert Hall Jr. received 73.

MacEwen Jr. Board of Health members: Flora Sadri-Azarbayejani of South Mountain Road, and Philip Baker of Birnam Road Planning Board members: Tammy Pelletier of Warwick Road and Julie Robinson of Hidden Pond Road, five-year terms. Board of Trustees of Veterans Memorials, non-veteran member: Raymond Zukowski Jr. of Main St. Board of Trustees of Veterans Memorials, veteran member: Francis L. Froment of Railroad Station Road. Sewer Commissioner: Dan Gray of Maple St.
