Registration for Session 1 classes and programs (Sept. 3 to Oct. 27) starts on Aug. 12 for YMCA members and Aug. 19 for non-members. Youth programs include: swimming and gymnastics lessons, soccer, basketball skills and drills, and more. Full-Day Preschool: The YMCA operates a year-round preschool with two classrooms for children 2.9 to 5 years old. The curriculum includes planned learning experiences that support social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. Students participate in individual, small and large group activities, including literacy; vocabulary; reading; introductory math concepts of numbers, shapes and measurements; science; social studies; art; and sensory activities. The school also provides daily physical activity and weekly swimming and gymnastics lessons. Enrollment is taking place for the 2019 to 2020 school year. Free Family Silver Membership is included for all five-day a week preschoolers.
Summer Track & Field: For $5 per person a night, those ages 2 to 16 can participate in running, throwing and jumping events at Mohawk Trail Regional School. The last Track & Field night will be Monday. Registration starts at 5:15 p.m. with events kicking off at 5:30. Fill out registration forms at the track. Ask Your Doctor for a Referral for Prescribe the Y: Prescribe the Y (RxY) is a 12-week wellness program, where participants work toward better health and healing. During your free consultation at the Y, your wellness goals and physical needs will be discussed and evaluated. YMCA staff are committed to your individual progress and will monitor your attendance and fitness gain. Ask your primary care provider for a referral for a free consultation.
