Lasagna: Dick’s Angels Relay For Life Team will be serving Friday at the Bernardston Vets Club. The special will be lasagna with salad and garlic bread. Food Pantry: The community food pantry will be open Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The pantry is in the basement of Dickinson Memorial Library, 115 Main St. The pantry is open the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
Shelburne Falls
Ireland Tour Information: St. Joseph’s Parish, 34 Monroe Avenue, will present an informational session Sunday at 2 p.m. about an 11-day Ireland Tour, Oct. 6 to 16. The tour will include the West Coast’s “Wild Atlantic Way” to the spectacular North Coast of Ireland, visiting counties Galway, Mayo, Donegal, Antrim, Meath and Dublin. The tour is hosted by Fr. Downtown Planter update with Owen Wormser will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Greenfield Savings Bank, 282 Avenue A. Wormser, Planter Coordinator, will showcase the extensive work and support that dozens of volunteers and donors have provided over the last three years. Visitors will look at slides and review the progress that has been made and look into some of the plant species that have been added in recent years – including more than 800 bulbs and 800 new perennials. Franklin Area Survival Center: The Food Pantry & Thrift Store hosted by staff and volunteers is at 96 Fourth St., 413-863-9549. The Thrift Store is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Food Pantry is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The center is closed federal holidays. The Thrift Shop is open to the general public and helps finance its Food Pantry. In an emergency, such as a fire or flood, the center will supply needed clothing and linens, free, and additional food to help the victims of a disaster.
